Hélder Palma | Winner of the 2nd edition

Helder Palma, with 30 years old from Viana do Castelo.

Recently graduated in Tourism Activities Management at the Polytechnic Institute of  Cávado and Ave in Barcelos.

Served the Portuguese Armed forces in the communications field between 2008 and 2014, where during a period of honour guard service at the Batalha monastery, found the vocation for tourism and hospitality.

Made an internship in the academic field during the summer of 2015 (3 months) in Valencia – Spain, in two hotelier units. Internship of 2 months on a rural tourism unit in Barcelos.

Mobility program (ERASMUS) made in 2017 in Zagreb, Croatia.

Winner of the 2nd edition of the PFHS and finalist at the YHS in Lausanne.

Currently, helping promoting the event PFHS to the academic community, making the formal presentation of the event to the academic community of IPCA, so all interested to represent the school as next delegates on the 3rd edition, may apply for the strict selection process.


Inês Arribança | Winner of the 2nd edition

Inês Arribança is 21 years old and was one of the winners of the 2nd edition of the Portugal´s Future Hoteliers Summit in 2016. She had the opportunity to represent Portugal as a delegate in Young Hoteliers Summit at the prestigious School of Hospitality, École Hotelière de Lausanne in Switzerland, in March 2017.

Inês is finishing her degree in Hospitality Management at University of the Algarve. Her first real work experience in Hospitality was at Conrad Algarve in the summer of 2015 in the F&B department, where her passion for hospitality started to grow. at first as a waitress and then as a hostess. This year she was a trainee in the reservations department at Conrad Algarve for three months.

Having won the 1st place at the Portugal`s Future Hoteliers Summit, she gave a speech with her PFHS colleague José Fernandes at the “XIII Congresso Nacional da Associação de Diretores Hoteleiros de Portugal”in Instituto Politécnico do Porto. Furthermore, during her academic period, she has been endorsing several academic activities as well as promoting her university and degree to schools.

Inês considers hershelf a highly sociable and strong-minded person, with eagerness to learn and to achieve excellence, and lives focused to further accomplish her goals in the hospitality industry.


José Fernandes | Winner of the 2nd edition

José started waitering tables when we was a teenager and it was then that he developed his hotelier skills, while was studying and working.

Had his first internship as a receptionist at Vila Galé Ericeira, worked as a night auditor at Hotel PINHALMAR in Peniche and was always involved in academic groups and activities.

With two degrees, Tourism and Hotel Management and Restaurant and Catering Management, he is currently at Penha Longa Resort, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel, in the Voyage F&B Operations Leadership Program and attending a Master’s degree in Management and Entrepreneurship.

For the past year, has been doing a few presentations and interviews after being one of the winners of the 2nd edition of Portugal’s Future Hoteliers Summit and a finalist at Young Hoteliers Summit at École Hôtelière de Lausanne, where he got his CHIA certificate.
